Old School

The Old Schools initiative was created to draw public attention to the old, now unused buildings of Bulgarian schools. These institutions of Bulgarian education, which for many years, often more than a century, have preserved and developed Bulgarian education and culture, and the Bulgarian nation.
The decision for the "Old Schools" initiative was made at the I National Pedagogical Conference held in Bansko on May 30, May 31, and June 1, 2015, organized by the "KUZMANOV" Foundation.
Through a Facebook group, we would like to gather like-minded individuals and patriots to collectively address the responsible institutions for the preservation of school buildings (Ministry of Education, Ministry of Culture, municipalities, etc.). We aim to initiate efforts to conserve the old school buildings, and at a later stage, potentially restore them - so they may remain cultural monuments for future generations.
Dear Bulgarians, let us collect photos and stories about school buildings from small and large communities, so that they may be remembered!
